Committee of experts selects a prizewinner with an excellent scientific track record.
The prizes awarded by the Jacobs Foundation reward excellent scientific and practical achievements that make groundbreaking contributions to the successful development of young people. The Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize, which is worth 1 million Swiss francs, honours scientific work with high social relevance for the personality development of adolescents. A further requirement is that scientific findings from interdisciplinary research are implemented actively in practice. Aware of the fact that such requirements also place high demands on the committee itself, the Jacobs Foundation put together a jury consisting exclusively of internationally renowned scientists to choose the winner of the Research Prize.
The second prize, the Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Award worth 200,000 Swiss francs, rewards the outstanding efforts of institutions or individuals who practically implement innovative solutions for child and adolescent development. The Board of Trustees itself functions as the jury for the Best Practice Award.
